YCP TheaterWorks is proud to announce the opening of their fall production, All in the Timing, by David Ives. Elaine Hartel of Ossining is directing the play which is slated to open on November 3 at 8 PM with performances also on November 9 and 10 at 8 PM and on November 4, and 11 at 2 PM. All performances will take place at the Van Cortlandtville School on Route 6 in Mohegan Lake (directly across from the Cortlandt Town Shopping Center). The director has selected 6 one-act comedies from Ives’ Mere Mortals and All in the Timing: “Sure Thing”, “Words, Words, Words”, “Variations on the Death of Trotsky”, “The Universal Language”, “Time flies”, and “Mere Mortals”. They were originally produced Off Broadway in the 1990’s.
All in the Timing includes six short comedy plays that explore a variety of situations through an assortment of characters. From awkward singles to philosophizing chimpanzees, their eccentricities will usher the audience through a dazzling exploration of the English language.
The New York Times stated that “All in the Timing is by a master of fun. David Ives spins hilarity out of words.” Come join YCP TheaterWorks as they open their 48th season with this fun packed evening of clever, short plays that are sure to tickle your funny bone.
The Cast includes: F. Scott Faubel, Abby Jennings, Violet Benny, John Schettino, RJ D'Amato, Trisha Thompson, Jim Brownold, Basia Zak, Matt Rowe, Nick Byrnes, Steve Schnapper, Jordan Jankus.
ALL IN THE TIMING director, Elaine Hartel has directed productions for YCP TheaterWorks over the past several years when she isn't on stage as an actor. She has most recently directed The Foreigner and, in the fall of '07, will direct All in the Timing. Previously she has directed Over the River and Through the Woods and Witness for the Prosecution for YCP TheaterWorks, and Painting Churches for the Hand-to-Mouth Players, as well as various short original plays for the HTM Playwrights Workshops. Elaine lives in Ossining with her husband, Herman Poritzky.
